DF PROFINET IO | Change PROFINET DNS device name and IP Address with LabVIEW

The boards DNS device name or IP Address needs to be changed.

Hardware:

• DF PROFINET IO PCI/CPCI/PCIe

Software:

• Windows, LabVIEW, LabVIEW RT

• DF PROFINET IO LabVIEW VISA Driver

Solution:

Usaualy this is done in the PLC Software which is handling the PROFINET Controller where the Device is connected to.

On the right side it is decribed how to do that with our PROFINET Controller.

• any other PROFINET Controller does support this feature

• make sure the device is running

• create a configuration in Configurator 3

  • PROFINET Controller

  • Device (name change)

• follow the numbers in the screenshot

• if you are using our controller and device on the same board, follow the description below

Using LabVIEW to change the boards DNS device name

• ehter the board is mountet in your PC or a PXI system running LabVEW RT

• preparation:

  • connect the controller to the device you want to change the name of.

  • make sure your device is running

• follow the description in the video
