How to generate a bus record

Action

Additional information

The Ethernet port of the PC must be integrated into your PROFINET network.

Use a switch to connect your PROFINET network and your Ethernet port.

Create a local file "command.txt" with the content "watch" in it.

Open the file Explorer

see video above

Call ftp://192.168.20.1/ or your IP-Address of the PROFINET board if it differs.

see video above

Copy the created command.txt to the ftp folder from the step before.

see video above

After some seconds the file is deleted (refresh folder)

see video above

Unplug and plug the Ethernet cable on the PROFINET board. This triggers the bus record.

On the ftp folder a *.pcap – file appears.

In case of using the DF PROFINET IO device:

go online with your PLC and start the PROFINET device

In case of using the DF PROFINET IO controller

start the PROFINET Controller

Wait about one minute while the recording will be done

Copy the *.pcap file from the board to a local folder and send this file to us.

Info: Start a new record by disconnect and connect the Ethernet cable on the PROFINET board again.

Set back the DF PRROFINET IO board in normal operation by rebooting your PC.
