KUNBUS-IC Module Identification
In case you have to identify the version of a KUNBUS-IC module this article is right for you.
You need the following components
RS-232 interface i.e. via USB-RS232
Evaluation Board that is compatible with the KUNBUS-IC module
24V power supply
Download the manual for your KIC module - here we use KIC-PROFIBUS
Preparation
In this example we use the KUNBUS-IC PROFIBUS module
Disconnect the 24V power
Check if the module is mounted the right way round and that the lever of the socket is pressed down correctly.
Set the power supply compatible to your module, i.e. 3.3V or 5V.
Set only one jumper down - here PB for PROFIBUS.
Check if the four CDI jumpers are connected to the CDI RS-232 interface.
Connect your PC to the CDI RS-232 interface - here with a USB-RS232 adapter
Instructions
Switch on the evaluation board with the 24V power supply
Check whether the corresponding LEDs light up as described in the manual
Look in the device manager for the name of the interface you are using e.g. COM5
This configuration should be correct
Press “Esc” to refresh the menue
Select Module Information via “1 [return] “
