Issue:

The “Configurator III” application running on an PXI-System with Windows 7, is not loading.

Possible reasons:

Windows 7 is a legacy OS and used to be completely supported from our software. The issues some of our customers using Windows 7 have seen, are only on the Windows application side of our application e.g. Configurator 3. Configurator 3 has many dependencies to Windows. Since Windows 7 and many other applications as well are not supported and updated anymore, especially if the servers of Windows declines updating our OS. There could be the case that our Configurator 3 does not work as expected.

However, the LabVIEW part and actual drivers of our software are not affected and stable. They depend on the NI Software-platform and are not affected by Windows.

Solution:

Due to end of life of Windows 7 its recommended to use Windows 10 as OS, since Microsoft wouldn’t still offer updates for Windows 7. Running the current stable versions of our applications, having dependencies to the Windows-API requires Windows 10 to be updated.
