The cRIO EtherCAT enters the "Operational" state when it is without other communication participants on the bus. As soon as other bus participants are present, an error occurs

Symptoms summary

  • Single in the network the communication between master and cRIO ECAT S works.

  • If more than one slave is operating in the ECAT network, the cRIO ECAT S will abort with the LED status message "Watchdog timeout".

  • The master is not in DC mode 

Instructions

  • Start the Master (or TwinCAT) in DC-Mode and open the example “DC-VI”.

  • To start the project for cRIO ECAT S in DC mode, please open the "cRIO ECAT S Getting Started_DC(FPGA).vi" in the sample project. Please start the master with DC switched on before executing the VI.
